Random thoughts of an upbeat mind

Almost 12 weeks

Schindler's List (Source)

That’s how long it took me to read this book.

It was very hard to get into for me.  Simply because the names and Nazi officer titles took me a while to get a grip on.

Then I only read this book at work. And between my co-workers interesting conversations, the TV in the lunchroom and my desire not to tear up at work, it took some work.

But I was determined to finish it. Now I can watch the movie. 🙂

I thought I was the only one who hadn’t seen it, but 117 people have it on hold.  I didn’t think that this movie from 2004 would have such a long waiting list.

Now I need to find a “light” book to read. Any suggestions?

  1. I couldn’t read that book or watch the movie. I am not a fan of that type of subject. I have a book review blog with a number of different types of books on it. I have just read and reviewed “The Secret Life of Bees,” by Sue Monk Kidd for the book club I am in. Here is a link to my book review blog: http://thatbritishwomansbookreviewblog.blogspot.ca/

  2. I haven’t seen or read that either. I recently realized that almost all the Holocaust books I’ve read have been children’s or teen books. I have seen other movies like the Shoah series, The Pianist, etc. I haven’t read any super-cheerful books lately!

  3. I haven’t read the book but the movie was exquisite. It would be hard to read at work, though. I haven’t read any cheery things – ai am just reading work guff!
