I think we can all agree, I am not managing this blog as well as I could. But I only have so much time and I prioritize rest before most things except work and exercise. I am working 60+ hours and still trying to work out at least 4 days a week. This was working well until I feel off the exercise bandwagon 3 weeks ago. I had to admit I was burnt out and needed a break. I am trying to find that perfect routine for me. Becoming a morning person is hard work.
My day job is slowing down and there were some lay offs last week. The rest of us have had our hours and pay cut to compensate for the decrease in business. This gives me 1 day off every week. On the flip side, the night job is ramping up so I am still busy. No rest for the wicked. At least I have the option to work from home with both jobs. So I see lots of days passed in pants with elastic waist! 🙂 I feel very fortunate to still have both jobs in a time when so many are faced with uncertainty.
I could not continue without acknowledging this global crisis we are all facing. Coronavirus has taken us all for a loop. It is frightening how quickly this virus has travelled around the world. Even more alarming is how casually way too many people are treating this situation. My heart has been breaking at the images of the elderly standing in empty aisles of toilet paper. Don’t get me started about the kids who depend on their schools to feed them and those schools are now closed. I pray that we somehow survive this and become better humans in the process.
I hope this message finds you in good health and you continue to be healthy.
In my first or second week, I was asked to volunteer to work the warehouse sale. Help set up on Friday night for a free box. Work the sale on Saturday and get a lieu day. I signed up for both. It was said that I might not have to work, until our “friends and family” sale made a local popular blog. At that point it was all hands on deck.
Meanwhile my BFF calls to say we’ve been invited out … on the same Friday. I agree to go.
I get up at 6:30-ish every morning as I have to get my workout in!! 😛 The “work” day was cut short for those doing the set up. So from 3:30-9pm I opened boxes and dumped heavy items into a bin … on my feet … in a hot dusty warehouse. It was not pretty.
I get home with just enough time to shower and clean myself up before my BFF comes to pick me up. I tell her of my day and the fact that I have to be back at work for 7:30am the next day.
We stay out until after 2am. 😲
I get up at 6:30am and curse my bad decisions. I did not have to stay at work until 9. I was supposed to leave earlier so I could nap before the club. But I was already there and there was so much to do.
We guesstimate that there was at least 2500 people who showed up for the sale. I managed to finish out my shift without issue. In fact I even ran a few errands before going home. But once I stopped moving, it was game over. Although I only slept for 2 hours around 7pm, it sort of messed up my sleep and I had a hard time falling asleep Saturday night.
On Sunday guess who went to bed not feeling very well? This girl!! Yup I have been fighting a cold all week and I am not sure I am winning. 😦
Basic take away, sleep is important my friends, very important.
My mother is in need of a fridge. Has been for more than a year. She is surviving with a bar fridge. Last year a fridge crossed my path and she rejected it. Now another fridge has become available. Thing is it looks like an upgrade to my fridge.
My friend is also selling the matching stove and dishwasher. My mother still has her original stove from 1983. I don’t think all the burners work. I do not currently have a dishwasher but have wanted one since I moved in 10 years ago. The stove is also an upgrade.
I want to buy this set and sell my mother my current fridge and stove for the same price I am paying. I would cover the transportation costs and figure out the logistics of moving all the appliances.
If it helps any the set is $300.
Does this make me a horrible person?
